Hatsune Miku: Sculpt WIP 18

So I finally got around to building this. And she is done now so I thought I would share some wip pictures before I post the final pictures.

Had to deal with some poor resin, kind of my fault left the bottles out in the garage where It got over 100F degrees.

I went with the stand colors, I wanted it to be a example to show others how to build it.
Though I hope I can get the funds to get new resin so the ones I sell are not terrible, I mean they are ok but not for beginners where this kit was kind of aimed towards.

Didn't really have any trouble painting it, took a lot of masking but was not too bad. the worse was the arms where I had to get the teal bit, not perfectly round so had to cut out a lot of little circles to get it to fit.

Enjoy, look out for information on how to buy one soon!

MG GN-X Finish

Took me a lot longer then I wanted because of school but it is done. Really happy with the way it came out.

The main thing I wanted with this kit is to have a nice clear look, but have lots of silver and hard edges. I Feel like I got that pretty well.

Although I kind of halved on the hard edge part since I notice there was a lot of circle areas on the kit. So I played with that some with the decals and I even did a few panel lines in the circle areas to make them pop. I think I could have done more with it but all in all it blends in nicely.

Decals from Samuel decal and I really liked the design but some of the decal's color disintegrated, luckily he provides a lot of each type so wasn't a problem. Though the ones on the pelvis you can't really see them in the light since they are silvery. Oh well.

White is a pain to work with. For one it doesn't have the coverage as other paints so often you have to do multiple coats get white down, second even if you just graze it picks up your finger oil and makes it yellow or brown. there were a few spots where I went back and touched up with a paint brush, but that only made it worse since I didn't know I had been using the flat white and it made more brush marks then normal. Can't really tell that much after clear coats and good lighting but I CAN TELL >:| THEREFORE IT PISSES ME OFF.

Used alclad for the metal parts and they came out soooo good. But I do feel that if I had polished the surface better it would have came out more shinny. I was in a pickle though since it would be easier to do the metal at the very last which meant there was a lot of paint build up by the time I got to it. I still really like how it came out the metal really makes the kit pop and is styled well enough to not be too distracting.

This kit is really nice and love the design of it but it is so top heavy, like it was a real pain to pose this and take photos because it kept falling over. At the end I got the hang of the trick to get it to stand up right but yeah minus marks on that end.

Another kit down! glad to finally have this done. Going to work on a Russian Afgan war diorama next :D

MG GN-X WIP

Wow I am terrible I haven't posted since last year? My bad :(

So with this I wanted to make something that was clean and simple with a lot of decals.
I think I did it justice.
Did a few mods to it, really there were some places I felt were too round for my liking so I made them hard edges. Did nothing to the joints, these new MGs are really good in that department, though I do miss making new joints maybe I can find a old kit to go next.

One thing that bugs me is how hard it is to have white WHITE. First it takes forever to paint since white is pretty thin pigment, then even touching it gives it a little tint that sure no one will see, but I SEE IT and there for it bugs me. But I repainted the worst spots and the rest isn't that bad.

1/35 M1A2 SEP

This has been laying around for about a year now, so I thought I would take the break that I have between semesters to finish it. I also used this kit for my first video series. I am not sure how to classify it, it's not really a tutorial, it's more like a vlog that goes in depth so it is kinda half and half. I guess the thing I am going for is to be like those Plamo videos from Japanese TV.
I think the model came out really nice, considering it was 4day and change to complete this.
Also I broke off the antenna while taking pictures, not sure where it is, kinda pissed. But I didn't really like it to begin with, so when I get some better wire in I think I might just make a new one. Luckily for me, the tank also has a version with no antenna so it's all good.

SVMS-010 OverFlag Complete

Wow so I haven't done anything in over a year.
to be fair know that I live in the dorms it is hard to do this stuff.
but I broke down last weekend and got my model stuff out of storage(a flood ruined some stuff)
so yeah not the best work but something light to get me back into things.
all painted, used a semi gloss coat(took my glossy clear and added 2 drops of flat to it). decals where made by samualdecal.com
then used a blackish brownish wash for panel lines.

unfortunately I don't have a very good camera, just used one from the libary. If I can get something better I will post better pics.

also I can't seem to find the orange visor. I think I might know where it is but I have no way of looking at that place right now.

Hatsune Miku: Sculpt WIP 17

Miss me yet? I hope so.
wellll sorry about that delay. with school and low supply + trial and error castings. really added more time then I thought.
But the first batch is here! though, I only have a limited amount right now. I will try and make more if people need them, but it is a lot harder to make them in the dorms then it is at my parents house. But I will do my best.

Well here you are!
Link to purchase (uses paypal, but credit cards can be used when you get to the paypal screen)

Hatsune Miku: Sculpt WIP 16

Well
Good news and bad news
good news is decals arrived really nicely packed. Remember you will get 2 of them.

that bad news is I ran out of mold rubber.. I guess it was because I am using a different formula, so my calculation was slightly off. off enough for it to require one more bottle. Which i ordered. But that means I won't be able to cast this weekend. Honesly Not sure what is going to happen. the new stuff will come next week (or this week depending on timezone) but I also have school. So yeah. I am really sad, but its not the end of the world.

Hatsune Miku: Sculpt WIP 15

Well This will be the last post before casting!
That is right I am near the end. well actually I am at the end. Just going to check over all the parts then cast them this weekend. I wanted to take a picture of her complete. But since the weights on the parts are not even then they don't all stay and I don't want to glue anything since that might damage the kit. I just hope it looks good when complete! Anyways wish me luck!

Hatsune Miku: Sculpt WIP 14

OK guys home stretch.
In anticipation, I have opened up the product page on my website. I will be offering the kit for only 35usd. and if you live in us/can then you will get the kit with 2-3day ship for no more than 40 unless you want overnight shipping ( WHY?). Now I only have a stock photo up. And the kit will go into production next week so things may change regarding the description. but that is really worst case, and the price IS fixed so no need to worry about that. I have the quantity set to five as that how many I am making so far. Will add more to the site if need be.

So Come here to pre-purchase, or sign up if you want to wait.

Also, here is a small update, Redid her belt chain thing. Made it out of epoxy and a more exaggerated look to fit the theme.
